The idea for our Harbour Lunches project came about from a conversation around what to do with the out-of-use space behind the Life Church offices. The garden was overgrown and the playpark area hadn’t been used in years so we decided to put our hands to it and get to work! After a few months of hard work in the sun and rain, the garden was ready and the project was ready to begin. Our Harbour lunches offer people who we have worked with through the Foodbank a place to stop, chat and dig a little deeper into faith and the big questions of life. This has been facilitated through the ‘Valley Paths’ course, which takes people through conversation around tough times in life and introduces them to faith and the truth of God’s presence even in the harder seasons of life.
We are so excited to see how God is using these lunches as a way for the church to actively connect with the community and we can’t wait to see what comes from it!
